Nile Travel has been a travelling specialist for Egypt. With Vliegfabriek, Nile Travel launched a new name and concept to the travel industry. You won't have to book your ticket, hotel, car rental and excursions on different websites, you can do it all in just a few easy steps at Vliegfabriek.nl. And you can pay for your bookings, all at once.

On Vliegfabriek.nl we'd like to have a website that's easy to manage and who communicates with the systems of the third parties who deliver their products to us. Customers should be able to find these products easily and add them to their itinerary. The entire itinerary should be paid for all at once. The website should be easy to find in search engines and cooperate with affiliate networks.”

Our solution

We started with making an inventory of which steps the customers of Vliegfabriek.nl had to take to personalize and book their tour. A customer might find it preferable to be able to easily upgrade their ticket or quickly reserve the seat of their choice in an airplane. However, with these options the website could also become far too complex. After we documented the preferred ‘flow' through the website we translated our findings to a functional design and started implementing what was necessary.

Making a website communicate with systems of third parties is not the easiest thing to do. Since you can't control these systems, it might be hard to predict how a system will react to what you put in. Fortunately Maykin Media has the proper experience in making these connections. We do so by following four steps. First we design the link based on documentation of the different systems. Then we'll consult the technicians of the third parties involved. We use our findings to make a test system that simulates the third party. All of this makes it possible to extensively test your website before putting it live.

We also try to create an optimal combination from the content that was delivered by the third party and Nile Travel’s own content. We do so to make sure the customers can make a more balanced decision and it also makes sure the visibility within search engines increases. In order to manage this combination we put a back end system in place.

In the end, all of this makes it possible for a customer to visit Vliegfabriek.nl and search for plane tickets, hotels, transfers and excursions. He or she is now able to add different products to their itinerary and pay for everything all at once via iDeal or credit card. After payment has been received, the products will be automatically filed in the appropriate systems. If questions might occur, Nile Travel will take care of them.
