What are you going to do at Maykin Media?

Maykin Media is currently developing various web applications, websites and APIs of known and lesser known companies. During your internship at Maykin Media, you will dive into the newest web technologies and improve your knowledge of Python and Django while working on real projects. You will learn to work the ‘agile’ way according to the SCRUM method and you wil get aquainted with unit tests and code reviews.

The specific tasks and activities during your internship at Maykin Media will depend on your background, knowledge, education, length of the internship and of course our need at that moment. For your reference, this is what others did during their internship at Maykin Media:

Improvement of a project management SaaS platform in Python/Django

One of our interns was given the task to improve the internally used project management SaaS platform in Python/Django. This platform can combine all data concerning a project. From milestones to documentation and time registration. The intern needed to improve the functionality of the ticket and time registration modules and to expand the functionality of the invoice module. So customers could pay their invoice directly within the platform.

Development of a CMS in Python/Django

One of our interns needed to develop a professional and strong CMS in Python/Django. This CMS needed to have some special, complex functionalities like a multi-website and a multi-language environment. This project required collaboration with a third party focusing on presentation oriented logic.

Improvement of web applications and API’s in Python/Django

One of our interns needed to improve various (internal) web applications, (customer) websites and API’s. This internship focused on Gitflow, writing automated tests, peer/code reviews and quality checks.

Improvement of web applications in Python/Django

One of our interns needed to improve a personal web environment of one of our customers (a login environment). This website was improved, automated tests were written and new, additional functionalities were developed.

What do we expect from you?

To be accepted as a Python/Django web developer intern at Maykin Media, you have to meet the following requirements:

• You are at least in your second year of Higher professional education or university education;
• you are available for at least three months;
• you have experience as web developer;
• you have at least 6 months of experience with Python;
• you  have great communication skills in English;
